This is list of the best free programs (this is my opinion) : “This post will be up-dated from time to time”

1- VLC*, Gom (both doesn’t have RealMedia codecs built-it) and K-lite codecs packs (there are more than one pack you pick) for playing all types of media

2- for malware protection Antivir* (it has one of the best detection rate for last months but it doesn’t protect from spyware), Active Virus Shield ( it use Kasersky engine, umm you can call it Kaspersky lite), Avast, Clamwin and ClamXav for Mac. ( Also there is AVG but somehow for unknown reason I don’t like it )

3- Windows Defender*, Spyware Terminator, Spybot, SUPERAntiSpyware, Spyware Blaster*, Arovax AntiSpyware* and Transaction Guard for anti spyware.

4- Comodo, ZoneAlarm and Ashampoo for Firewall protection.

5- Paint.NET*, Artweaver for photo editing and designing.

6- OpenOffice* and neo office for Office and spreadsheets work

7- Firefox* and Opera as stand alone browsers for surfing Net (I like Firefox more and it’s the default Browser).

8- Notepad++* notepad replacement and for PHP editing

9- Deep Burner* and CDBurnerXp for Burning CDs and DVDs

10- Google Desktop* for desktop search.

11- “7-Zip“* to open and make Zip, 7z and Rar and other type of archives ( 7-zip doesn’t make rar files and only open it ).

12- Thunderbird and Eudora is an Email Clint like Outlook.

13- Utorrent*, Azureus, Transmission (for Mac and Linux) and Deluge (for Linux) as downloaders for Torrent files.

13- Orbit ,Fashget*, Freedownloadmanager, DownThemAll (Firefox plugin) and Multiget (for Linux) as download managers that supports resumable downloads and multiple simultaneous downloads.

14- Any Video Converter Free, Media Converter SA Edition, Prism Video Converter, SUPER and MediaCoder* as a video and audio converting tool between among different audio/video formats.

15- Amaya as a Web editor.

16- Limewire, FrostWire and Phex* as P2P client based on the Gnutella network.

17- ccleaner, Advanced WindowsCare PE and ATF Cleaner for system cleaning, optimization and privacy tool

18- Spamato as an Anti-Spammers

 

All the programs in the list with the sign * are installed in my PC.

Note: even the free programs is good but that doesn’t mean the paid programs is over. No the paid ones still have the advantages compared to the alternatives, because it has many tools and options the free programs doesn’t have yet and that’s not a secret, as an example: Kaspersky has more protections tools than Active Virus Shield, 7-zip can open Rar archives but it can’t make it, Nero has a lot of tools Deep Burner and CDBurnerXp doesn’t have.
